What Is My IP

Your IP address is the public address websites see when you connect. The lookup below shows it in one click, together with its type, approximate location and network operator — handy for checking that your VPN is actually on.

Your public IP address

Looking it up…

    Querying a public IP service…

Privacy note: the lookup runs directly from your browser to a public IP service, so that request passes through the provider. This page does not use your account and does not store the result.

What an IP address tells — and what it does not

    Rough location

Region or city level, based on how the address block is registered. It is an estimate, not a street address.

    Network operator

The ISP, mobile carrier or data centre that owns the address. VPN nodes usually show up as hosting providers.

    Not your identity

An IP does not contain your name, email or payment details, and several devices can share one public address.

    Changes with the network

Switching Wi-Fi, restarting a router or turning on a VPN changes the address websites see.

    Looking for “my location”?

The lookup above already covers it: the Location field shows the city or region your address is registered to, which is the same estimate other websites use. It comes from network registration data, so it can differ from where you actually are — especially on mobile networks or while a VPN node is in use.

    IPv4 or IPv6?

Both formats are in use. IPv4 addresses look like 203.0.113.24; IPv6 addresses are longer and contain colons, for example 2001:db8::1. The lookup above reports whichever address your connection presents first, so a dual-stack network may show either one on different visits.

Check whether your VPN is active

    1. Look up your IP first without the VPN connected, and note the address and location.
    2. Connect to a Stelink VPN node in the app.
    3. Refresh this page — the address and its location should change to the selected node.
    4. If nothing changes, confirm the app shows a connected state, try another node, then check again.
Still showing your local address? Another proxy or security tool may be handling the connection. Our Chinese guides cover DNS leaks, DNS pollution and the checks worth running.

    Keeping your address private

A VPN routes your traffic through a server you choose, so websites see the node's address instead of your own. Stelink VPN uses AES-256 encryption with a proprietary obfuscation protocol, a zero-trust design and a no-log policy, and it includes DNS-leak and IPv6 protection. You can read the details in the Privacy Policy.

    FAQ

    What is my IP address?

It is the public address your network uses on the internet. The lookup above shows it instantly, along with its type, approximate location and the network operator that owns it.

Where does my location come from?

The Location field is based on how your IP address block is registered, so it resolves to a city or region rather than a precise position. It can be several kilometres off, and it changes when you connect through a VPN node.

Does my IP address reveal my exact address?

No. An IP address maps to a city or region level location and to a network operator, not to your name or street address. Websites can, however, use it to estimate your region and to link your visits together.

How do I check whether my VPN is working?

Look up your IP before connecting, connect to a Stelink VPN node, then refresh this page. If the address and its location change to the selected node, traffic is going through the tunnel.
